George Poehlmann, 90, of Carmel, passed away March 7th, 2007 peacefully at Summer Trace Health Care. He was born in Rochester, NY on July 1, 1916, the son of the late John and Meta (Arps) Poehlmann. He served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in WW II receiving a Purple Heart. George received his Master’s Degree from Purdue University upon leaving the military. He worked as a Senior Engineer at Western Electric retiring in 1956.George is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Bess (Myers) Poehlmann; sons, Hans (Cynthia) Poehlmann, Frederick (Rocio) Poehlmann; daughters, Ann Foster, Carol (Vern) Wagner; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and sister, Heidi (Frank) Banner.Memorial Service will be held in All Souls Unitarian Church, Indianapolis, IN, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 31st. Intombment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN. I remember that George videotaped Ann’s wedding to Michael (in which I took part). Then when he was making a copy, he inadvertently erased the real tape. My sympathies to all the family.
